Upgrading Process

Originally when I bought this printer, it worked like a 3D printer should. However, the original stepper motor drivers made the printer sound like nails on a chalkboard and the fans were industrially loud. Before addressing the sound issue, I wanted to address the bed adhesion issue. The original magnetic bed was too coarse which resulted in it ripping when I tried to remove prints. I replaced the bed with a glass bed and the PTFE tubing with bowden tubing. I also changed out the stock plastic extruder with a metal one. I then replaced all the fans except the parts cooling fan with silent fans. (you can see the one on the power supply mounted outside) I also 3D printed some additions for the printer like a tool box, cable chain, scoop holder, and custom side mounted filament roll holder. Finally, I replaced the original motherboard with a silent stepper driver motherboard which allowed support for a BLtouch (auto bed leveler). Now, the printer is exponentially more quiet and can be automatically leveled.
